November 5. Mr C. S. Keevee is a candidate for Dunedin East. A private telegram say 6 that Sweetmeat had a walk-over for the Royal Park Stakes. The Taieri Lake station has been sold to Mr J. C. Buckland for £18,000 cash. There has been quite a stir in mining stock in Dunedin during the last few days, especially in Keep it Dark shares, which have gone up from 18s to 355. It ie said that a well-known coal merchant netted £3000 by the rise, another £1500, and a third £900. At the City Court to-day, Dillon, a publican, was fined £5 for selling on bunday.
