The following horses have been scratched for the Melbourne Cup:— Fhstic, The Gem, Kobinoor, Primrose, Royal Maid, Sardonyx, Somerset, Spinningdaie, Sangfroid, Tourmaline, War-hawk, and Wizard.

The'following is the latest betting on the Cup :—Darebin, 4to 1; Waxy, 5 to 1; Trum Yoss, 10 to 1 ; Duchess 20 to 1. The following of tbe horses still left in are doubtful starters for the Cup:— Bandalbion, Bathurst, The Cockney Greyhound, Lord Barghley, Monmouth, Orient, Respite, Suworrow, and Zulu. .November-. Warlock has been scratched for tbe Cup.
