October 31. Two documents received by the Governor, one from the chiefs of Rarotonga, and the other from an influential English resident, as to the alleged interference of a Frenoh man-of-war vessel, are published. The Greytown Club and the Working Men's Club at Greytown were destroyed by fire on Saturday night. The fire originated in the Greytown Club, and the flames were carried to> the other club. The following are the insurances : — Greytown Club £710 in the New Zealand office, and the Working Men's Club £500 in the South British office. The following ..intercolonial weather exchange has been received:—Sydney, Saturday. Fine weather prevails : all over Australia, with easterly winds in New South * Wales, and westerly on the south coast, with a moderate depression passing Portland. The barometer at Albany registers (on the 28th 29-90), at Portland 3000, at Hobart 30*10, and at Sydney 30-40.
