HAWKE'S BAY DISTRICT, A.0.F., ANNUAL MEETING.
The third annual meeting of the Hawke's Bay District, Ancient Order of Foresters, was held in the Mechanic's Institute at Havelock on Thursday night. . The following District Officers were / pre«ent:—District Chief Ranger, Bro. John Aehton, D.S.C.R. Bro. Briggs, District Secretary, Bro. T. G. Gilpin, District Treasurer, Bro. Sam Spence, and the following delegates representing the various courts in the district:—Bros. Garner, McLeod, Gilberd, Cohen, McDougall, Exeter, Scholes, Bethel, Graham, Le Geytz, and Riddle. A large number of visiting brethren attended. It was decided to hold the next District meeting in Waipukurau, and that the District Secretary's salary should be increased to £20 per annum. The following is a statement of the number and the amount of funds of each Court:—Sir Charles Napier, 129 members, total funds, £894 Hβ 8d ; Lord Clyde, 26 members, (to 30 June only) total funds, £162 19s sd; Captain Cook, 92 members, total funds, £414 8s 4d; Sir Henry Havelock, 64 members, total • fnnda £265 16e; Robin Hood 26 mem-ber-8, total funds, £94 2s 9d ; Ruahine, 35 members, total funds, £78 9s Id ; total, 372 members, and funds £1,910 7s 3d. All the members are financial except fwenty,
The following members were elected as the District officers for the ensuing year: — Bro. Briggs, District Chief Ranger ; Bro. S. Baddeley, District SubChief Ranger ; Bro. S. Spence, Treasurer (re-elected) ; Bro. F. G. Gilpin, District Secretary (re-elected.) The retiring D.C.R. installed the new officers. A resolution was passed for Bro. John Ashton's name to be added to the respect board, and he was presented with a past officer's neck ribbon. The third annual report was read by the District Secretary. It showed that since laet October 64 members have joined the Order, which now numbers 372 in this district. During the year £83 15s has been paid for sick relief, and £30 tor funeral expenses. The total funds of the Courts in the district have increased from £1248 to £1910.
