THE TARADALE CHURCH.
fTo the Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] Sir,—Everyone who has visited the Taradale Church has remarked on the neatness of the building, and the appropriateness of it altogether. Its nice situation, the quiet corner, far enough off to be away from much traffic, and yet easy of access to all. To look at it at this time of the year nestling among the trees, which, showing so, many shades of green, there is not one of us but is satisfied for having given his mite towards erecting it. Yet Sir, the present Incumbent does not seem to think keeping the trees surrounding it from being broken down and permanently disfigured any matter of importance, for since his occupation of the parsonage (notwithstanding ample grounds to the parsonage) he has turned a cow with a large calf and his horse into the church ground. The cow above mentioned is now replaced by another, and turned into the same place. The Incumbent's attention has been drawn more than once to the injury done, but he cannot see it. All who have seen the church ground regret it being so misused, and nobody stops it. Hoping by thus drawing the attention of the proper authorities to get it permanently stopped.—l am, &c, Growler. Taradale, October 19,1881.
