At the Parihaka meeting two hundred returned prisoners were there. The meeting was a large one. Te Whiti spoke about an hour, followed by Tohu. The speeches were in much the same strain as last meeting. They were to resist. No matter if thousands came to Pungarehu, the walls would fall down, and the European power be broken up.
