AUCKLAND.
October 6.
In the Supreme Court to-day L. Hayes was sentenced to five years imprisonment for rape. On receiving his sentence the prisoner fell back exclaimiog " Ob, good God ! " James Gaffney received seven years imprisoment for sodomy.
