A fire at Ponsonby has destroyed an eleven*roomed house occupied by G. S. Jakins, and an adjoining house owned and occupied by Martelli. The insurances of Jakins are £700 on the building and £300 on the furniture in the Royal office; Harrison (damage), £250 on building and £200 on furniture in the Royal office, and Martelli uninsured. In the Supreme Ceurt to-day true bills were found against Esther for larceny, and against Samuel Keefe for defacing coinage. The Court has been occupied all day with charges of larceny against Riri, a native, which are not yet finished.
