September 28.

The following intercolonial weather exchange has been received :— Sydney, Tuesday evening. There is fine weather, with light northerly winds, except in the north of Tasmania, where the influence of a moderate depression is still felt. The barometer at Albany registers 30*1, at Portland 300, at Hobart 299, at Gabo 30*2, and at Sydney 30*3. At the annual dinner of the Wellington Artillery, the lieutenant commanding stated that the baitery had decided to offer its services to the Government to go to the front. The railway and post office at Featherston was entered on Sunday night or Monday morning, and £6 14s in cash and tickets representing 18s 8d were abstracted. The doora and windows were found secure. There is no clue as to the culprit.
