WASHINGTON.

September 26. The funeral of the late President Garfield took place to-day at Cleveland, in Ohio State. There were fully 17,000 visitors from all parts of the country for the occasion, and enormous crowds of residents were also present. The funeral procession was most imposing. Among those forming the same were Secretary Hayes and the members of the Cabinet. A large number of members of Congress. and 1,500 nr>table personages, including the representatives of foreign countries. The utmost reverence was shown throughout the ceremony by the multitudes present. Business during tbe day was entirely suspended throughout the United _stafe.-*.
