LONDON.
September 26. At the wool sales to-day 10,100 bales were offered. A firm demand was experienced. Fine to finest qualities now rule one half-penny higher than at the close of last sales.
Business was partially suspended today in this city and in many towns in England a 9 mark of respect to the memory of the late President Garfield, on the occasion of his funeral at Cleveland.
The New Zealand and Australian mails via Suez and Brindisi were delivered here to-day.
