September 24. The following intercolonial weather exchange has been received:—Sydney, Friday evening. Light N.W. rains are falling in the north-west district of New South Wales, and over the south of Victoria and Tasmania. The barometer at Portland registered 30-0, at Hobart 299, and at Sydney 29 9.
The Divorce Act Amendment Bill has been reserved for the Queea's assent.
On an examination of the injuries sustained by the boy Power, who met with the accident while alighting from the train yesterday, it was found necessary to amputate his left arm and one finger of his right hand. The poor lad had also his right leg broken above the ankle, besides a couple of severe scalp wounds. He is in a critical condition, but hopes are entertained of his ultimate recovery. Mr Thomas Mason announces his intention of contesting the Hutt seat at the approaching election.
