September 2. A subscription box for an aged seaman's fund, with the contents, has been stolen from the cabin of the ship Hermione. ' White, formerly landlord of the Shamrock Hotel, wandered into the bush at Tairua while in a state of delirium tremens, and has not since been heard of. A search party of forty men went out, but returned unsuccessful. No hope of White being found alive is entertained.
