BERLIN.
August 81. Diplomatic relations between Germany and the Vatican, which for some time past have been somewhat strained, have now assumed a more friendly character. The credentials of the newly-appointed Roman Catholic Bishop of Treves received official recognition to-day from the Imperial Government.
