Particulars are given by th p Rydnpv "Fvpiiing Yews concerning the sudden illness of ,<- arl Olanwilliam, the Admiral in command of the Flying Fquadron. On Tulv 22 the Admiral was apparently in his usual good =<tate of health at noon, and shortly nfterwai'ds was standing on the deck with his officers grouped around him for the purpose of having , their photographs taken, when he was suddenly seized with a fit. and fell down on the deck. The surgeons of H.M.S. Tnconetant, Dr. Thomas G. Wilson, Dr. Anthony R. Lynch, and Dr. Alexander G. P. Gipps were immediately in attendance, unci used every mearie to insure recovery. The Admiral remained insensible for about three hours, bub the news of his illness was not allowed to be sent on shore until late in the afternoon. It wns necessary to refuse admittance to all visitors, and it. was this fact, that made it first publicly known. About five o'clock the Admiral rallied considerably, and tlie bulletin issued last night was to the effect that he was progressing most favorably. Owing to the sudden illness oi the Admiral, the lawn tennis party, which was to have been held at Governmene House in the afternoon, was postponed, and also, necessarily, the Admiral's dinner, which was to have been given on board TT.IM.R. Inconstant in the evening. Tho ball at Government House, however, was not postponed, but was a most brilliant iffp.ir, the only cloud being the regret at the illness, and consequent unavoidable absence •<f the Earl of 'lanwilliam. The sailing of the Squadron has been postponed for a few liiys, <o enable the Admiral to have a thorough rest.
