COMMERCIAL.
Messrs Miller and Potts report having held a sale of stock, syins, and produce, at Waipawa on Thursday. The attendance was good, and the bidding spirited, and showed a marker! improvement on last month's quotations for young cattle. About 330 aheepskine were brought forward, and all sold at prioes ranging fiom 3jd to ■•'" per lb. Hides were passed in unsold, not reaching owner's reserve. Tallow we buitted at from lsd to 2d per lb. Seed potatoes sold at 10s per sack. About half a ton bacon and hams realised from 8d to 9d per lb. We also sold two cottages at Waipukurau for £10 and £7 respectively. In cattle only 42 head were yarded, a line of 120 steers being too late for the sale j 15 20 months-old steers brought from £3 2s 6d to £3 15s ; heifers, same age, £3 2s 6d to £3 12 6d ; three-year-old heifers, £4 to £4 15s ; cows, in calf, £5 to £6 10s.

New Zealand securities have advanced one-half per cent all round, amd are to-day quoted as follows: —Five per cent 10-40 loan, 105 ; five per cent 1889 loan, 104£ j four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, lo3i Adelaide and TTew Zealand breadstuff's are unchadged at last quotations, viz., Adelaide wheat, ex-warehonse. 46s j Zealand wheat, ex-ship, 48s 6d ; Adelaide flour, ex-warehouse 34s 6d. Australian tallow, best beef remains at 34s 6d, and best mutton at 365. Best Sydney copra "has delined to £13 10s per ton.
