\ corkespondent ia another column suggests tht advisability of the liberals of Napier Meeting ia public for the purpose of reforming \he Liberal Association, whioh is dow only represented by some dozen gentlemen, who, apparently from their actions, are under the mistaken impression that in their own persons: all that ia liberal is centered. The so-called "leaders" of liberalism in Napier aye the few members of tbe association wbo were elected about three years ago to aot an committeemen for the space of twel'/a moufbo. These gentlemen, actuated by the most advanced liberal principles, have occupied office since their election, and with similar liberality have added one or two chosen companions to their number. The association hiv, been completely ignored, as well as every question of local and general importance. Tbe objects of the association Lave no more engaged tbe attention of tbe committee than have tbe interests of tbie borough in particular or of the colony at large. The political education ot the people has not been advanced one iota by tbe committee, nor have liberal views been disseminated. As reyiesetited by the committee tbe liberals of Napier hive been nonentities and as a party b&vc died out. It is abundantly o.lecr tbrt tbe right men were net elected to the committee, and tbe suggestion that tbe association should be reformed comet) noDe too soon. We shall have more to say upon this subject ere long, but, in the meantime, we trust tbat who do care something for the principles upon which the association was founded wil' see tbat steps are taken to elect managers who are loyal to tbe cause, and not men who would make the cause subservient to private political ends.
