CHRISTCHURCH.
July 15. The Canterbury Yeomanry have decided to hold their annual training muster in October in the southern part of the province. The settlers of the Alford Forest district have resolved to oppose the rates proposed to be raised by the Rakaia and Ashburton Forks Railway Company, and iutcnd to petition the Government on the matter.
