July 13. Mr Parris returned to town last nigbt from Pungarehu. He stated that he bad not succeeded in settling the diffijuity, although the natives have left. The disputed ground is about half an acre in extent, and adjoins a native reserve. The natives refuse to cultivate any but the > disputed land, which is on the rise of a
hill, aud not fit for the purpose u:ey say they want it lor.
