A number of sohool-deska and forms made in Lyttelton by prison labor were despatched to Wellington on Saturday for schools in the JNorth Island.
The body of a man who has evidently been dead for some days was found on the Port hills on Saturday. No merits of violence were visible.
Special prizes will be offered at the next agricultural exhibition for locally made glaes bottles, paper, and cement. The Rev. Thomas Spurgeon preached in the Theatre Roy-d last night, and over 2000 persons were present.
