SYDNEY.

July 5. Parliament was opened to-day by His Excellency Lord Augustus Lofius. In his address the Governor announced that during the session the following would be brought in: —A bill ior the regulation of Chinete immigration, a Legislature Bill, Licensing and Municipal Bills, together with others for the amendment of the various Acts now in force in the colony.

In both Houses of Parliament last evening the Addresses iv Reply to the Governor's opening speech were carried without division.

A Chinaman who carried the smallpox from a countryman who was attacked at Waterloo has been found to be suffering from the disease at Drnistown, and has been removed to the quarantine station.
