The homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi, which left.Melbourne on May 10th were delivered here to-day. At the wool auction to-day 10,800 bales were catalogued. There was a firm and active demand. It has transpired that Mr Parnell will shortly pay another visit to the United States. Telegrams are to hand from Tunis announcing that a warrant having been issued on a charge of peculation against the Bey's steward, he has taken refuge in the British Consulate. It is not stated,

however, whether he has received the protection he seeks.
