LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Thursday. After the delivery of the Governor's speech, the following business was transacted :— FAPEBB. Mr Whitaker laid on the table twentythree series of papers. NOTICES OF MOTION. Mr Waterhouse gave notice that he would aßk leave to bring in a bill to amend the law relating to married women's property. Mr Whitaker gave notice of the following committees:—Native Lands, Local Bills, Waste Lands, Private Bills, Petitions, House, and Library; the last three to be chosen by ballot. THE ADDKESS IN HEPLT. Captain Fraser, Captain Baillie, Mr J. Johnston, Mr Wilson, and Mr Whitaker were, on the motion of Mr Whitaker, appointed a committee to prepare an address in reply to the Governor's speech. The Council then adjourned till next day.
