THE GRAIN AND ROOT SHOW.

The above show, under the auspices of the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and | Pastoral Society, was held to-day in the large back store attached to the offices of Messrs Hoadley and Lyon. The number of exhibits was small, but the samples shown were of excellent quality and growth. A charge of one shilling for admittance tended to keep many visitors away, and the show accordingly did not appear to attract the general sight-seer. The following is the prize list:— WHEAT.
