Messrs Kennedy and Gillman report as follows on the share market:—There has been little doing lately in the share market, all stocks heine firm, with a rising tendency. We append quotations—Banks ! New Zealand, £22 7s 6d ; National, £3 7s 6d; Colonial, £2 os 6d. Insurance : National, 2F.s ; Ponth British, 52s ; Standard, 14s ; Union. 21s fid ; Colonial, lis 3d. Napier Gas, slightly depressed, £13 to £13 10s.

The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England i £15,400,0 O. • Tip New Zenland four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan has further advanced by one-half, and is to-day quoted at 103 ; the five per cent 10-40 loan is unchanged at 145 ; and the five per cent 1889 loan, 104, ex-dividend. 1 T-.o mrivVpf-a for Australian and T^ew Zealand bread stuffs and Australian tallows show no change in prices. Selected transparent, kauri gum is quoted at £10 5s per cwt., being an advance of £1. Melbottbne, May 27. Oats are quoted at 3s 4d. Manritius advices report that the engagements of sugar for New Zealand comprise 225 tons for Lyttelton, and 200 tons for Auckland. Sydney, May 27. Patra rico'is quoted to-day at £18 per ton ; sugar, Company's No. 1, pieces, per ton, £36. Adtxaide, May 27. Wheat is steady at 4s 9d. Town flour is quoted at £11 5s to £11 10s, and country brands at £10 10s per ton. Freights to London, by steamer 355, sailing nominal. There has been nothing doing in freights during the week.
