DUNEDIN.

May 13. A fire broke out in the Union Chambers in Princes-street yesterday morning, but the damage done was trifling. The Grange store in Forth-street was burnt down yesterday. The building was insured in the Transatlantic office for £400, and the stock and furniture in the same office for £250. Thompson, the owner, estimates his loss at £550 above the insurance.

Vincent County has reached the end of its financial tether. The bank has refused further advances, and has requested a reduction of the overdraft.

The Garrick Club had a crowded house last night in aid of the Tararua fund.

Three insolvencies were filed this week, the principal one being John Morrison Innes, Mosgiel, storekeeper, debts £1935 and assets £1399.
