May 4.

The Auckland cargo by the City of New York is to be transhiped, by order of the Hon. F. Whitaker, to the hulk Auckland.

The Duke of Manchester is a passenger by the mail steamer to Sydney. Archbishop Steins was a passenger by the Rotorua, which sailed for Sydney last evening.

A boy named Mulhern, aged 14 years, lately an inmate of the Industrial Home, waa committed for trial yesterday on charges of housebreaking and larceny.

Another fatal case of tetanus has occurred. A little boy, four years old, the son of Mr F. Christmas, cut his band with a glass bottle, and died of lock-jaw.
