TIMARU.

April 19. At the Police Court this morning an elderly man named William Oldfield Wadford, a schoolmaster in a respectable position in life, was sentenced to one months hard labor, for stealing a gold chain from the hut of a laborer named Dennison. At Albury a shed in connection with the Albury pound was burned down on Sunday night. It was filled with grain and hay, the property of the poundkeeper. The orgin of the fire is a mystery, as the door of the shed was locked. It is singular that tho old pound house was burnt down on the same spot this time last year.
