Lord Carlingford (formerly Mr Chichester Fortiscue) succeeds the Duke of Argyle as Lord of the Privy Seal. Sir Michael Hicks Beach has given notice in the House of Commons of a motion censuring the Government for its settlement of the Transvaal difficulty.

A bulletin issued this evening reports that tbe Earl of Beaconsfield continues very weak, and is still in a critical state.

Both Houses of Parliament adjourned to-day to April 25th for the Easter recess.

April 9. Mr Bradlaugh has been re-elected for Northampton.
