Further particulars regarding the men who landed near Keppel Bay on Monday show '.hat they had plenty of provisions and money. The Italians stated that they wanted to return to New Caledonia via Melbourne, where they desire to see the Italian Consul-General. It seema probable that the Italians were employed to effect the Frenchmen's escape. The transcontinental survey party left Argmac on Wednesday, and expect to reach the Gulf of Carpentaria by the end of April.
