Result is to leave for Wairoa at 9 o'clock to-night, Captain Baxter having received a telegram from the Wairoa pilot stating that the bar is smooth. The steamer Kiwi, Captain Campbell, left for Poverty Bay at 3.30 p.m. yesterday, taking several passengers, 31 piles for the new bridge contract, 6 tanks, a pure-bred bull from Mr Heslop, and about 10 tons general cargo, besides about 30 tons original cargo. It is improbable that she will call hero on her way back to Wellington. The Bchooner Amaranth, Captain Colin Campbell, sailed for Greymouth in ballast this morning. The 5.3. Sir Donald, Capt. Quinlan, Bteama for Blackhead and Waimarama tonight, with a full cargo of posts, grass seed, and stores. The ketch WiH Duck is still lying at the breastworis awaiting orders.
