AUCKLAND.

A gum digger named Tom Loughey has been killed at the Great Barrier by an old burnt kauri tree falling across the tent. His mate, who was lying behind bim, narrowly escaped. Mr De Lias has engaged for New Zealand Mr James Carden, an English actor of repute, and two ladies, who accompany him in the steamer Norfolk.
