WELLINGTON.

At the Magistrate's Court to-day, William Ebden, the proprietor of the Thorndon Club, was charged with a breach of the Licensing Act in selling spirits in less quantity than two gallons. Two previous convictione were recorded, and he was fined £40 and costs, or in default three months imprisonment.

A large native meeting was commenced at Masterton to-day. There are about 800 present. The meeting was called ostensibly for a feast and a talk about God, but it is not of much interest or importance.
