AUCKLAND.

March 9. The Central Waikato Hotel at Te Awamutu has been considerably destroyed by a fire which was discovered in the bar yesterday morning. It was subdued by great exertions without extending to the main part of the building. The Grammar School enquiry continues. The evidence of the Rev. Mr Gulliver, one of the masters, was strongly adverse to the organisation and efficiency of the school. Mr Biss, the chief postmaster, also gave adverse testimony.
