CHRISTCHURCH.
March 9. At the Magistrate's Court this morning John Beaufield was committed for trial for shooting at John Spring in Colomo-street with intent to kill. The prisoner made a statement in his defence to the effect that Spring had been the means of parting he (prisoner) and his wife, and had prostituted his (prisoner's) children.
