Nelson citizens' and brewers' prizes match, 200, 400, and 500 yards ; 7 shots each ; for all members. First prize, citizens' cup and £20, A. Ballinger (Wellington), 77; second prize, brewers' tea and coffee service and £15, Waddell (Nelson), 76; third prize, umbrella stand, presented by Messrs Moutray and Crosbie, and £10, Rogers (Blenheim), 76 ; fourth prize, cup presented by Mr Muncaater, and £7. Weir (Thames), 75; fifth prize, 2cwt. of flour, presented by Mr Rutherford, and £5, Downie (Thames), 75; sixth prize, £2, E. Maddock (Blenheim), 75; Thomas (Thames), Ellis (Nelson), and A. Dixon (Wellington), each 75; Wratt (Waimea) and Hutchinson (Otago), each 74; Hazlett and Sutton, A. (Marlborough), Ross, E. (Westland), and Cooper (Auckland), each 73. The following did not get prizes:—Sharland, Hoskins, Bennington, Purnell, Paynter, Harding, C. France, Howell, Turner, Shaw, Coleman, Smith (Greymouth), Gill, F. O'Key, each 72 ; Griffith, Webster, King, Burnett, H. Sutton, D. Hale, Hurston, Still, H. Dixon, Armstrong (Wellington), each

71; Lurston, Ross, Parslow, Bradley, Boddington, Brooks, M'Lean, Fowler, Hazlett, Taylor, Weymiss, Watt, Clouston, each 70. There were 138 entries, and the chief prizes were the most valuable of any match of the meeting. In the eighth match M'Credie, Shaw, Howell, and Grey each made 69 without taking prizes; and Armstrong, Ross, Thurston, Ballinger, Nutsford, Okey, and Private Doige, each 68. The weather continues beautiful. It is dead calm to-day, and very hot. The nineth and tenth matches, which decide the respective championship, are proceeding slowly, the men being squadded so that those with the highest aggregates will not fire the final stages until late in the afternoon, when a large attendance of visitors from town is expected to witness the conclusion. The squads in which Paynter and Hoskins fire do not commence shooting till 4.15.
