SPORTING NOTES FROM DUNEDIN.

Dcdedin, February 18. Sir Modred did a fine four miles gallop to-day, going well. Titania and Sylvanus were out early, and did a fast mile and a half. Nautilus and Atlantic were sent four times round with the sweaters on, Kitchen's other two, Hippona and Broughleenahour, following suit. The two King Philip colts, Gvai and Mamiluke, with Moa Bird in attendance, did the Champagne distance at a pretty fast pace Our Pony did a lot of work, both looking and going well. King Cole and Maud were sent a mile at their best speed, the latter having the best of the finish. Carrigan was treated to two rounds on the tan, and Foster took Sailor Boy twice over the hurdles. A number of horses did walking exercise.
Sir Modred is a great favorite for the Cup. The prices on the field are 6to 1 bar 1, and no betting in consequence has taken place.
