CRICKET.

Australians v. Hawke's Bay,

This match was resumed yesterday at about 2.15 p.m. The weather was flue, but the attendance on the ground was very small, owing, no doubt, to the end of the game being so near, and the feeling of almost certainty that the Australians would win in one innings. Play commenced with Craven, the not out, and J. Martin, to the bowling of Spofforth and Palmer. Craven batted very carefully for 7 when he was bowled by Spofforth. The remaining wickets fell very rapidly, and the innings ended within an hour for 74, including 27 extras, the Australians thus winning in one innings by one run. The following is full score in Hawke's Bay's second innings : — Hawke's Bay—2nd Innings.
