A young lady, accused of sporting somewhat rapid costumes, declared that she would rather go about with nothing on than do anything to attract attention.
" Are you there, my love ?" he whispered through a hole in the fence of his beloved's garden. " Yes, darling," was the reply ; "■jump over." He did so, and alighted in tile presence of an enraged mother, a broomstick and a guardian of the night.
"I'm very fond «f little boys," she said, as she tripped on a string stretched across the pavement. '' I f "?1 as if i could eat a couple of 'em this minute, raw."
A temperance editor, in drawing attention to an article on ardent spirits in one of his papers says —" JFor the effects of intemperance on the body ace our inside."
