The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 463, against 453 in November, being an increase of 10. The deaths amounted to 149 in December, an increase of 22 on the number for November-. Of the above • deaths, males contributed 84 ; females, 65. 78 of the deaths were of children under fire years of age, being 52.35 per cent, of the whole number ; 61 of these were of children under one year of age.
