The Presbyterian Synod, by 24 to 4, has carried a resolution in favor of reintroducing the Bible into the public schools, the Committee to have the power to sanction reading. Mark Hood, who was convicted of illicit distilling at Waikemo, for which which he has been fined £200, and in default, one year's imprisonment, has been liberated, the fine oeing remitted by the Governor.
