DANISH STRIKE
Ended By Agreement
LONDON, July 2. The general strike in Copenhagen ended following an agreement which lias been readied between the German commander in Copenhagen and the municipal authorities, employers, trade unionists, and leaders of the various political parties, says the British United Pi ess correspondent in Stockholm. Gas, electricity, and water supplies have already been restored. The Germans have withdrawn the military cordon round the city and released trade union leaders who were arrested earlier, but tne curfew has not been lifted and meetings and gatherings are still banned. The Swedish news agency s Copenhagen correspondent earlier reported that the Danish Council of Liberty had appealed to Sweden to put diplomatic pressure on Germany to accept four demands. lie strike would be continued if the demands were not satisfied. The demands were: (1) Abolition of the Schalburg Corps ot Danish Nazis or the removal of its members from Denmark; (2) abolition of the curfew, (3) the opening of Copenhagen s supply routes and the restoration ot.gas, water and electricity: (-!)■ no reprisals for the strike. ' , ' The Germans at that time were rusning I’cinforcemeats into Copenhagen to quell the serious riots in the city. Angry Danes yesterday lynched three membeis of the Schalburg Corps. Crowds of Danish patriots assembled outside Kin o Christian’s palace.
