Mr. S. G. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, left Wellington for Christchurch last evening.
The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, ActingPrime Minister, left Wellington for Christchurch last evening. He will return tomorrow.
Councillors W. J. Gaudin, M. F. iLuclne and G. S. Amos have been elected Wellington City Council representatives on the Wellington Fire Board. Mr. E. V. Bevan has been elected president of lhe Overseas Seamen’s Gift Committee, io fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. C. M. Turrell. The special meeting of the committee, before proceeding to the election, passed a sincere vote' of regret at the loss of their president, ail members standing.
