But this could be achieved only if tlie Government embarked on a definite plan to open up the land to primary producers. He advocated considerable development of rail transport in the area. "If the Government provided cliance.-, for yontig men and women in the Northern Territory, great cities would grow up within 40 or 50 years,” said Mr. Johnson. “No country in the world offers greater opportunities' for young people than the Northern Territory."
