GOLDEN WEDDING
Mr. And Mrs? A. Kay The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. A. Kay, ~ Boston Terrace. Wellington, was celebrated on- .Tune 23. Mr. Kay, who has resided in New Zealand for the past 23 years, was born 80 years ago in Montrose. Scotland, where he was an oilieial of the Montrose Kailway. After his marriage he and his bride travelled to Canada, and Mr. Kay spent, two years mining in Pernio. British Columbia. Ho was also engaged in the ship-building business in California, where the couple settled for IT- years. More than 130 guests met to congratulate Mr. nnd Mrs. Kay at an evening reception held in the Blind Institute Hall, Dixon Street. Sergt.-Major Simpson acted as M.C. .The roast to the King was proposed by the Kcv. 11. Webb. Mr. J. Guy proposed the toast to the. bride nnd bridegroom, and Mr. J. Gilchrist replied. The celebration concluded with a song by Mr. S. Aubrey in which all the party joined in the popular chorus.;
