MARCH TO FRONT
German Token Of “Perfect Understanding”
(Received June 28,,10.30 p.m.) ’ LONDON, June 28. . The' German troops’ march through Helsinki last night en route to Finland’s eastern front was the first token of the solidarity and “perfect understanding’ between Finland and Germany, says the American Associated Stockholm correspondent. They appeared in the streets singing German marching songs even before the Finnish communique was issued announcing the promised aid- They marched past the Parliament building while the deputies were in session, but the Prime Minister, M. Ryti, did not mention the agreement to the deputies. The same agency’s correspondent in Helsinki states that von Ribbentrop. is believed' to have promised the Finns nine divisions and 500 planes if they continued the fight against Russia. M. Ryti and M. Tanner took the initiative a week ago in appealing to Germany, but told their close associates nothing. Von Ribbentrop arrived in a bomber escorted by four fighters.
