RESULTS OF BATTLES
Comment By Mr. Fraser LONDON, June 22. The New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, told the audience at a reception given to him by the New Zealand Society that the invasion of Normandy was exceeding the highest hopes by one-third. With Mrs. Fraser. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan welcomed the guests, who included Mr. C. R. Attlee, Brigadier Kippenberger. Brigadier Falla, and many notables. Mr Alexander, First Lord of the Admiralty, at Mr. Fraser’s request, gave the news of the United States Navy’s victory over the Japanese Fleet. “It appears.” Mr. Fraser said, “to be a crushing, perhaps decisive battle. It is certainly the most important event that has occurred in the Pacific since Japan entered the war.” The announcement was greeted by a storm of applause. The King gave an audience to Mr. Fraser.
