Satisfaction At Turkish Decision (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 21. In the House of Commons, the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Eden, expressed British . satisfaction at the Turkish decision to . " prevent the passage of German naval .? ships through the Dardanelles. , Replying to a question, he said: ‘The Turkish Government has given orders that the passage of all KT and EMS vessels 'through the Straits shall be refused in future. Further, all German merchant vessels which arrive at the Straits will henceforth be carefully examined to make sure they are merchant vessels. Assurances to this effect V. -e given to the British Ambassador at Ankara and published in an official " ■ Turkish communique. The Government y * wish to express their satisfaction for this * action by the Turkish Government.” KT boats are armed merchant vessels ’ of about 800 tons, and EMS boats are « armed barges, of about 50 tons.
