Halt To Mistreatment Of Jews (Received Juno 22, 9.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 21. In a highly unusual action, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives has .issued a statement calling on Hungary to halt the mistreatment of Jews. The statement said that the lives -of »Irtmst 1,000.000 Jews in Hungary , hung in the balance. “Events show that the tide of military battle has'turned in favour of the United Nations,” it addejl. “Let Hungary at - this historic moment stem the tide ot inhumanity toward the helpless people within her borders. We are not merely con- . tent to speak with horror at the barbarism of- the Governments involved. We nre determined that the criminals guilty of it shall be brought to justice.”
