Thousands To Be Flown To New York (Received Juno 19, 9.45 p.m.) NEW YORK. June 19. Thousands' of soldiers wounded in the invasion will soon arrive in New York by the army's Air Transport Command, which is carrying casualties across the Atlantic in less than 21 hours, says the New York "Herald Tribune." Since the army begau clearing foreign hospitals, on April 1, preparatory to the invasion, more than 2000 casualties have been flown to New York alone.
